Louisiana Tarpon Fishing
We take Louisiana tarpon trips from July 1st – October 31st in the best-known fisheries in Louisiana.
We only use artificial lures or flies as we sight fish for migrating tarpon on the beaches, as well as search the back countries of Louisiana. Throughout September and October we will chase these monsters in Louisiana out of Venice, The Chandeliers, and Breton Islands, and around the passes of the Mississippi River.

Florida Tarpon Fishing
Islamorada and the Florida Keys offer some of the best fly fishing for tarpon in the world. Islamorada tarpon fly fishing is best from April to the middle of June. The Florida Panhandle and Big Bend areas that include Panama City, Lanark, Carrabelle, Apalachicola, and Port St. Joe are home to the second largest annual tarpon migration in the world. Florida Panhandle tarpon fishing is best from the middle of May to second week of July. Tarpon fishing here is world class with fish that average 100lbs+ and a few fish approaching 200lbs each summer are not unusual.
Throughout the past 20 years, Capt. Jason Catchings has sought out and employed some of the best tarpon fishing guides in Florida and these guides can put your on the "Silver King" charter of your dreams. Our fishing is by sight fishing only and is done primarily with a fly rod. We do offer some conventional fishing, if client needs this to make trip a success.
Most of these tarpon fishing charters will take place just off the shore of the pristine beaches of the Panhandle and Big Bend in crystal clear water where sight fishing is at its best.
The peak time for fishing Tarpon in Florida is April 1st through July 1st.
